I’ve been working out for a long time. At 16 I got into weight training and now, at almost 45, I’m still hitting the gym 4 or 5 days a week. The only reason I’m not at the gym, or at least biking outdoors, everyday is the fact that I have a couple of long days at work that I take off from training. They always say you need to take days off, but I’m definitely one of those fellas who would probably do at least a little something every day if not for those long work days.

One thing I’ve never really had are abs. There was a quick second there where I sorta did, but it came and went quickly. Now, recently becoming single again for the first time in 6 years, it seems like something to really go for. If for no other reason just to get leaner. While I was with my ex-girlfriend we seemed to constantly eat the wrong things. Now, I feel like I can focus on dropping that 20 to 30 pounds that are separating me from having some nice visibility in my abs.

Of course it’s going to take some work to reach my goal of getting abs. I already weight train consistently, so diet is what I really need to hone in on. I do enjoy lean meats and many vegetables, so I definitely consider it doable. Salad and soup for lunch will be better than a sandwich with chips from a deli as well. No more burgers and fries or pizza, unless it’s once in a great while.

I’m dedicating this blog to all things involved in getting great abs. Diet and exercise will obviously be the focal point. It’s all about being focused on a goal. You can do it if you really want it, at least that’s what I say to myself. Let’s get this journey started!
